David Silver is a philosopher and business ethicist who specializes in the relationship between business and the rest of democratic society. His book, Corporations and Persons: a theory of the firm in democratic society, was published in 2025 by Oxford University Press

He holds the Chair in Business and Professional Ethics in the W. Maurice Young Center for Applied Ethics (School of Population and Public Health/Faculty of Medicine), and is jointly appointed in the Sauder School of Business.
