GCC Chief: Joint Ministerial Meeting For Dialogue With Russia To Begin Thursday In Sochi

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi said Wednesday the 8th joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the GCC and Russia will be held Thursday in Sochi, Russia.
Al-Budaiwi said in a statement the meeting comes in line with the directives of GCC leaders aimed at strengthening cooperation and building partnerships with regional and international countries and organizations.
He added that GCC and Russian foreign ministers will discuss means of boosting joint cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international issues.
Al-Budaiwi noted that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides in November 2011, laid the foundation for a new stage of Gulf-Russian cooperation, affirming the keenness of both sides to advance relations toward broader horizons that serve common interests in various fields.
