Svyrydenko At US-EU Meeting: Tough Sanctions Needed Against Russia's Shadow Fleet And Oil Giants

The meeting was opened by US President Donald Trump. The head of government took part in it at the invitation of US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine welcomes the efforts of international partners aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the war started by Russia.



She stressed that sanctions are already having a tangible impact on the Russian economy. The latter's losses currently exceed USD 160 billion.

Svyrydenko called for continued joint pressure, imposing tough sanctions against Russia's“shadow fleet,” oil giants, oil refineries, traders, and other intermediaries.

“Only decisive measures can reduce Russia's resources for waging war against Ukraine and put an end to daily Russian crimes and terror,” the head of government stressed.



As reported, US President Donald Trump has announced his alleged readiness to increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

Experts suggest that only symbolic measures will be introduced, rather than those that will actually deal a blow to the Russian economy.
