Trump trade advisor says BRICS group hate each other
(MENAFN) White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro has claimed that the BRICS coalition is unlikely to endure, arguing that its members have historically “long hated each other.”
In an interview with Trump strategist Steve Bannon on Monday, Navarro said that none of the BRICS nations could thrive without selling goods to the US. He highlighted tensions between India and China, noting China’s support for Pakistan and ongoing military presence in the Indian Ocean.
Navarro also asserted that China is sending illegal immigrants to Russia and has claimed Russian territory, including Vladivostok and Siberia, which contradicts official agreements: in 2004, China and Russia signed a treaty resolving their border disputes.
“Historically, they hate each other and kill each other,” Navarro added, stressing that BRICS countries are dependent on US trade. He criticized their exports as “unfair trade practices” that drain the United States economically.
