Dawn V. Rogala, Ph.D. is a program manager and the conservation team lead at the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute (MCI). She studies and conserves paintings and painted objects at the Smithsonian and affiliated institutions, and creates and oversees a range of MCI programs in the conservation, technical analysis, and protection of cultural heritage. Dr. Rogala specializes in the preservation of modern paintings and paint materials, and her research focuses on artists' use of industrial and other unconventional materials in their work.
