In a statement on X, the Flotilla said that due to unsafe weather conditions, a decision had been made to reurn to Barcelona for the safety of participants and to ensure the success of this important humanitarian campaign.

A second team, consisting of 50 vessels, was expected to leave Tunisia Thursday towards Gaza in one of the largest marine efforts to break the unjust Israeli occupation blockade on the war-devastated region.
A third delegation was expected to leave the Italian coast; however, the delay from the Barcelona team postponed its deployment
The Global Sumud Flotilla was announced back in July, consisting of four teams with the aim of breaking the blockade on the Gaza Strip and ending the war. Previous attempts to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip were foiled by the Israeli occupation marine forces. (end)
