25 Dead, 27 Injured As Bus Overturns In Kabul
KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 25 people have been killed and 27 others injured when a 580-type passenger bus overturned in the Arghandi area of Kabul, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Wednesday.
Mufti Abdul Matin Qane, spokesman for the MoI, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday night, when the bus veered off the road near Bredagi Square in Arghandi and overturned due to driver negligence.
He confirmed that 25 people lost their lives and 27 others sustained injuries. Security forces transferred the wounded to Maidan Shahr Hospital and several hospitals in Kabul.
This incident follows a deadly crash in Herat province last week, in which 79 people were killed after a 580-type bus collided with a truck.
