The crisis is a direct result of a lack of mechanisms to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its repeated crimes, the statement added.
This is particularly true of the permanent members of the Security Council, "unless it quickly intervenes immediately to end the famine and stop the war of genocide and crimes committed by Israel against Palestine", Saudi Arabia's ministry said in a statement.
