Jordan Condemns Israeli Targeting Of Journalists Covering Gaza Conflict

Amman, Aug 11 (Petra) - The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs strongly condemned the systematic Israeli targeting of journalists covering the aggressive war on the Gaza Strip, including the recent killing of Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqah, along with photographers Ibrahim Al-Zaher and Mohammed Nofal, all of whom lost their lives.
Ministry spokesperson Sufyan Qudah emphasized the Kingdom's rejection and denunciation of attacks on journalists, describing them as war crimes requiring accountability. He stressed that these crimes against media professionals constitute blatant violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
Qudah renewed the call on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by immediately halting the Israeli aggression, providing international protection to journalists, medical personnel, and humanitarian organizations working in Gaza, respecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national land, and holding perpetrators accountable for crimes committed.
