(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The attack occurred around 10:00 a.m. in the Pishchane Starostat of the Sumy community, according to a statement from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, cited by Ukrinform.

“The Russians struck an agricultural facility. At least two people were killed,” the administration reported.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, where a search and rescue operation is currently underway. Authorities are working to clarify the full extent of the damage and casualties.

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the victims were employees of the enterprise-two men aged 54 and 55. Three other staff members sustained injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

Law enforcement officials and prosecutors are documenting the aftermath of the strike. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which pertains to war crimes resulting in civilian deaths.

As earlier reported by Ukrinform, between the morning of August 4 and the morning of August 5, Russian forces carried out 110 attacks across 36 settlements within 13 territorial communities in the region. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported during that period.
