(MENAFN) The president of Mexico’s Senate, Gerardo Fernandez Norona, expressed his country’s readiness to deepen media and cultural cooperation with China, according to reports.

During a meeting held at the Senate with the head of a prominent Chinese news agency, Fernandez highlighted the shared cultural heritage of both nations, describing them as ancient civilizations with rich histories and deep-rooted traditions. He emphasized that enhancing collaboration in media and cultural spheres would foster better mutual understanding, strengthen ties between their peoples, and serve as a positive model for the harmonious coexistence of different cultures.

Fernandez also praised the Chinese news outlet for its accurate, balanced, and professional reporting, especially in an era where misinformation is rampant and public confidence in media is faltering.

He further expressed hope that the agency would persist in advocating for the Global South and continue to be a voice of truth and justice in the international media landscape.
