Bitcoin Hits New Peak
(MENAFN) Bitcoin maintained its upward momentum early Monday, climbing to an unprecedented high of $123,000 at approximately 0740GMT.
The digital currency has seen a continuous surge over the past five days, breaking historic records throughout the previous week.
As of 0925GMT, the current value of the leading cryptocurrency stands near $122,200, marking a 4.2% increase compared to the previous day.
Data provided by the analytics firm Coinmarketcap shows that the total worth of the global cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, has increased by about 3.5% in the last 24 hours, reaching an overall valuation of $3.8 trillion.
Since the beginning of the year, Bitcoin's price, as the dominant cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has risen nearly 27%.
Meanwhile, Ethereum, the second most valuable cryptocurrency by market cap, experienced a price boost of approximately 2.7%, climbing to $3,045.
