UNSC Commends Qatar For Facilitating Peace Deal Between DR Congo, Rwanda
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The UN Security Council (UNSC) welcomed the peace agreement signed between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Rwanda and expressed their deep appreciation to the State of Qatar, the US, and the African Union for their facilitation efforts.
The members of the UNSC urged the DRC and Rwanda to fulfill, in good faith, their commitments and obligations to establish lasting peace in eastern DRC, including those related to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) and resolution No. 2773.
The UNSC members expressed their determination to actively support the two countries in the implementation and follow-up of this agreement.
