UK's Ovarian Cancer Support Charity Ovacome Set To Visit Norwich With Free Support Event For Those Living With Ovarian Cancer
7,500 people are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year, and one in 50 women can expect a diagnosis in their lifetime. Ovarian cancer is classed as an uncommon cancer, many diagnosed with the disease can feel isolated, which is one of the reasons why these events are so important.
Anna Hudson, head of Ovacome's Support Services commented on this event saying:
“We're delighted to be visiting Norwich for this Health and Wellbeing Day. This is our first Health and Wellbeing Day that we've hosted in Norwich and we're looking forward to meeting as many of our members as we can. These events are informative and a great opportunity for our Ovacome Community to come together to socialise, make friends and form new connections.”
“For this event we've also got a fantastic line-up of sessions and expert speakers, including a talk delivered by local Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr Nikos Burbos – who is based at Norfolk and Norwich Community Hospital. We will also have some time to talk a bit about Ovacome and the support we can offer, which will be useful for those who haven't been to many of our events or have only just heard about us as an organisation.”
Alongside a talk from Dr Nikos Burbos, attendees can expect a session on 'Scar therapy' with Fiona Kent and Pryscilla Borrajo, a talk from clinical nurse specialist Siobhan Falco, a session on meditation with Dee Williams and a craft tapestry session led by Faith Caton.
To book and find out more information, including timings and the full agenda for the day, visit , call 0800 0087054 or email ....
