US Resumes Weapon Deliveries to Ukraine

(MENAFN) The United States has resumed shipments of certain weapons to Ukraine following a brief interruption by the Pentagon, as reported by a news agency on Thursday, citing US officials.

The deliveries were temporarily halted last week due to concerns about the diminishing stockpiles of US arms.

According to two anonymous sources who spoke to the news agency, the renewed deliveries include 155mm artillery shells and precision-guided GMLRS rockets.

A news outlet also verified that shipments had resumed, although the exact timing and quantity of the deliveries remain unclear.

Last week, the Pentagon had paused some arms shipments to Ukraine, including precision munitions and air defense interceptors, expressing concerns over the depletion of US reserves.

However, a White House official, who wished to remain anonymous, clarified to the news agency that there had been no actual “pause” in the shipments.

Instead, there was a review process to ensure that the military aid was in line with US defense strategy. The official also mentioned that the Pentagon had never formally declared a suspension.

Russia has argued that foreign arms deliveries to Ukraine only prolong the conflict and increase bloodshed without changing the war's outcome.

US President Trump stated on Wednesday that the United States would continue supplying Ukraine with defensive weapons, although he did not provide clarity on who had made the decision to pause shipments.
