Amman, July 7 (Petra) -- A bold new step toward shaping Jordan's digital future is on the horizon as the Jordan Post prepares to launch the International Ecommerce and Logistics Academy, a forward-thinking training institution aimed at equipping individuals with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Sami Al-Dawood, Chairman of the Academy's Board of Trustees, described the initiative as a strategic response to national calls for youth empowerment and economic modernization. The academy will serve as a high-level platform offering specialized professional and technical education in fast-growing fields such as e-commerce and logistics, both key drivers of the global economy.
Al-Dawood emphasized that the academy reflects His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision of a future-ready Jordan, aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It also echoes Crown Prince Hussein's continued focus on building young Jordanians' digital capabilities to keep pace with technological progress across sectors.
CEO Hanadi Al-Tayyeb noted that the academy was founded on a strong belief in the value of practical, career-oriented education. It aims to close the skills gap in local and regional markets by developing talent that meets real-world needs, particularly in logistics and e-commerce, two of the most dynamic and opportunity-rich sectors today.
Academy President Ihab Abu Diya added that the institution will offer cutting-edge, accredited programs delivered in a modern, interactive learning environment. These will be designed in collaboration with key partners, including the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Development and Employment Fund.
The academy's mission extends beyond teaching. Through hands-on training, real-world projects, and strategic partnerships, it aims to help youth launch their own digital businesses, support Jordan's transformation into a regional e-commerce hub, and open new pathways to employment through entrepreneurship and freelance work.
The curriculum will cover a wide range of in-demand areas such as e-commerce operations, postal and delivery services, digital marketing, data analysis, e-payment systems, and supply chain logistics. Programs will include short intensive courses and diploma tracks, with practical experience, field visits, and subsidized tuition options.
Designed to be inclusive, the academy will cater to a diverse audience, including recent graduates, postal employees, small business owners, teachers, mothers, freelancers, and individuals seeking to upskill or shift careers. Graduates will receive nationally accredited certifications and be connected with employment opportunities through strategic public and private sector partnerships.
