Water Supply Project Kicks Off in Afghanistan
(MENAFN) Work has officially commenced on the development of a new water supply network in northern Afghanistan’s Samangan province, as reported by a state-run news agency, on Thursday.
The project, funded by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, is set to cost 31 million afghani (roughly 442,857 U.S. dollars). Once completed, it will provide access to clean water for approximately 10,500 residents, improving living conditions in the area, the news agency reported.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Afghan interim government, which has been rolling out numerous small, medium, and large-scale infrastructure projects to create jobs and reduce poverty. As Afghanistan embarks on the challenging path to recovery following years of conflict, the government has made a strong appeal to both domestic and international investors, urging them to contribute to the country’s reconstruction and long-term development.
