KFAS, UK's King's Foundation Sign Strategic Pact On Sustainability, Innovation

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 2 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with The UK's King's Foundation, in line with directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to support sustainable development, education, and innovation.
In a statement on Wednesday, KFAS said the partnership will strengthen joint efforts in food security, education, scientific research, and the preservation of cultural and environmental heritage.
Planned initiatives include model regenerative horticulture farms and specialized training programs in agricultural skills, sustainable architecture, and traditional crafts.
The two foundations will also develop innovative environmental and architectural solutions tailored to regional needs.
Additionally, the agreement opens new ways for scientific research and academic exchange through visiting-researcher programs, fellowships, support for pilot projects, and virtual knowledge-sharing seminars between Kuwaiti and UK institutions.
On her part, KFAS Director General Dr. Ameenah Farhan called the collaboration a significant step toward deepening Kuwaiti-British relations, and a reflection of the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Executive Director for Education at The King's Foundation Simon Sadinsky said the organization is "excited to advance scientific and environmental education in horticulture and farming," while "sharing our expertise in sustainable architecture and traditional crafts."
Meanwhile, Charge d'Affaires at the British Embassy in Kuwait Stuart Summers welcomed the strategic partnership, saying he "looks forward to seeing the tangible outcomes of this partnership, which will strengthen further ties between our respective scientific and development institutions."
Founded by King Charles III in 1990, The King's Foundation is a charity that promotes communities where people, places, and the planet coexist in harmony. It provides education programs to nearly 15,000 students each year, health and wellbeing services to about 2,000 people, and leads regeneration projects in the UK and abroad. (end)
