Syrian Foreign Minister Welcomes US Decision To Lift Most Sanctions
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani welcomed US President Donald Trump's signing of an executive order to lift sanctions on Syria.
In a post on X, Minister Al-Shaibani welcomed the removal of the majority of sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, calling the executive order issued by President Trump a historic decision.
Lifting the sanctions will help propel Syria into a new phase of prosperity, stability, and openness to the international community, he added.
He stressed that lifting this major barrier to economic recovery would open the door to long-awaited reconstruction and development efforts, as well as the rehabilitation of vital infrastructure, creating the necessary conditions for the safe and dignified return of displaced Syrians to their homeland.
