Iran Warns 'We Are Ready' As Israel Prepares Possible Strike
The Islamic Republic of Iran posted a cryptic message on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, stating:“We are ready.” The message came amid rising tensions following reports that Israel is preparing for a potential unilateral strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
U.S. intelligence sources, as cited by CBS News and NBC News, indicate that Israeli defense officials have told Washington they are ready to act, even without direct U.S. support. American officials are now bracing for possible Iranian retaliation, particularly against U.S. personnel and assets in Iraq.
In anticipation of heightened conflict, the U.S. government has advised some of its citizens to leave parts of the Middle East. Reports also confirm the relocation of non-essential diplomatic staff from embassies in Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain.“It could be a dangerous place,” President Donald Trump said, confirming troop repositioning.
This military buildup follows the collapse of indirect U.S.–Iran talks aimed at reviving nuclear diplomacy. President Trump reiterated his long-standing position, saying,“They can't have a nuclear weapon. Very simple. We're not going to allow that.”
Amid the military warnings, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently passed a resolution condemning Iran for violating its nuclear safeguards obligations. The resolution, backed by France, the UK, and Germany, passed with 19 votes in favor. It criticized Tehran for accumulating highly enriched uranium and blocking inspector access.
In defiance, Iranian officials announced plans to expand their nuclear capabilities. This includes the establishment of a new enrichment site and replacement of older centrifuges with advanced IR-6 models at Fordow. Iran's Atomic Energy Organization called the IAEA resolution“politically motivated and baseless.”
As Israel prepares for potential military action and Iran escalates its nuclear program, the region teeters on the edge of direct confrontation. The failure of recent diplomatic efforts has further narrowed the window for peaceful resolution.
International actors, including the European Union and the IAEA, continue to urge restraint. However, with hardline rhetoric and military mobilization increasing, analysts warn that a limited strike or retaliatory attack could spiral into a broader regional crisis.
Global stakeholders are now closely watching whether diplomatic channels-possibly through Oman or Qatar-can revive dialogue before any irreversible steps are taken.
