Trump Voices Deep Frustration With Putin Due To Military Escalation

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, May 26 (KUNA) -- US President has expressed deep frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin due to stepped-up Russian military attacks on Ukraine.
Trump told reporters on Sunday that was he very surprised that Putin military forces have intensified the bombardment of Ukrainian cities despite the US presidentآ's efforts to broker a ceasefire.
"Iآ'm not happy with what Putin is doing. Heآ's killing a lot of people and I donآ't know what the hell happened to Putin," Trump said at an airport in New Jersey. "Iآ've known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but heآ's sending rockets into cities and killing people and I donآ't like it at all."
"Weآ're in the middle of talking and heآ's shooting rockets into Kyiv and other cities," Trump said. "I donآ't like it at all. And Iآ'm surprised. Iآ'm very surprised."
Asked by a reporter what he intended to do about the renewed Russian assault on Ukraine, Trump said: "Weآ'll see what weآ're going to do. What, am I going to tell you? Youآ're the fake news, arenآ't you? Youآ're totally fake."
"I donآ't like what Putin is doing, not even a little bit, heآ's killing people," Trump added. "Something happened to this guy, and I donآ't like it."
Pressed by a reporter to say if he was now seriously considering putting more sanctions on Russia, Trump replied: "Absolutely. Heآ's killing a lot of people. What the hell happened to him?"
Noting he had a very good relationship with Putin, Trump expressed his belief that the Russian leader "has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and Iآ'm not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever.
"Iآ've always said that he wants all of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe thatآ's proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia! Likewise," Trump continued.
