UN Launches Urgent $1.42 Billion Appeal To Sustain Life-Saving Aid In Yemen
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The United Nations has issued an urgent appeal for $1.42 billion to maintain essential humanitarian services for approximately 8.8 million people in Yemen through the end of 2025. This funding is vital to maintaining life-saving programs amid one of the world's most dire humanitarian crises.
The appeal, announced by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), aims to preserve the minimum level of humanitarian assistance and critical life-saving activities for vulnerable populations across the country. It is a targeted supplement to the broader 2025 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, which seeks $2.47 billion to assist 10.5 million people in urgent need of aid and protection.
In February 2024, the United Nations and its humanitarian partners launched an appeal to raise approximately $4 billion to address the needs of 18.2 million people in Yemen.
