
Uzbekistan, METRO Cooking Up Plans For Steady Food Shipments To Russian Market
The news follows a meeting between a delegation from METRO Russia and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
During negotiations, the parties chewed the fat over ways to broaden their trade horizons, touching on the supply of hot-ticket items and fine-tuning transport and logistics routes to ensure smooth sailing for deliveries.
The visit took place within the broader efforts of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade to foster stronger engagement between Uzbek producers and international partners and to promote the country's exports.
METRO is a major international wholesale company specializing in serving the HoReCa sector and independent retailers. The company operates in 34 countries and employs more than 97,000 people worldwide. In Russia, METRO has been present since 2000 and currently manages 93 shopping centers across 51 regions, with a workforce of about 11,000 employees
