Learning Ally Announces Record Participation And Winners Of Eighth Annual Great Reading Games

(MENAFN- PR Newswire) The Great Reading Games is a fun reading engagement program that uses the Learning Ally Audiobook Solution® to encourage students to learn through listening. This year's competition saw record participation, with more than 200,000 students reading over 35 million pages in just seven weeks. It's the most popular of Learning Ally's quarterly programs that support teachers in empowering students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, to read more books and become independent readers and learners.

The 2025 winning schools are:

  • Orange Grove Primary School, Texas
  • Herndon Middle School, Virginia
  • Cornerstone Charter Academy, Florida
  • Mort Elementary School, Florida
  • Sojourner Truth Middle School, New Jersey
  • East Orange Campus High School, New Jersey
  • Rocky Mountain Prep - Creekside, Colorado
  • Spring Valley School, Alabama
  • South Grand Prairie High School, Texas
  • Creekside Elementary School, Texas
  • Lewis County Intermediate School, Tennessee
  • Vergennes Union High School, Vermont

During the Great Reading Games, educators receive prepared teacher resources and track student reading activity on a sliding point schedule with the Learning Ally app, incentivizing students to read both in and out of school. Students earn points in one of 12 brackets based on grade level and school size, allowing participating schools, teachers, and students to win prizes and national recognition.

Educators report positive reading outcomes associated with the program, including:

  • Increased reading scores
  • Stronger connections with students
  • Enhanced ability for students to read grade-level text and complex material

Innovative teachers use the Great Reading Games to enhance their teaching capacity and expand their class and school libraries with accessible books. Additionally, many school literacy leaders have implemented schoolwide reading initiatives to create a culture of strong, engaged readers.

Jennifer Huff, Learning Ally's Director of State Contracts Success, said, "The Great Reading Games continue to be a powerful catalyst for student engagement and reading growth. As we've seen year after year, this competition not only motivates struggling readers to embrace literacy, but it also fosters a sense of community and achievement. By leveraging Learning Ally's extensive library of human-read audiobooks, we empower students to overcome barriers and discover the rich tapestry of stories and knowledge within books, ultimately paving the way for their academic success."
