Iraqi PM Congratulates Syrian Pres. On New Gov't Formation

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, April 1 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani congratulated on Tuesday Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa on the formation of the new Syrian government.
This came in a phone call between the two sides, said Media Office of the Iraqi Prime Minister in a statement.
The Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed his country's firm stance in supporting the choices of the Syrian people.
He also affirmed Iraq's rejection of the incursion of Israeli occupation forces into Syrian territory, stressing its support for Syria's unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
This is the first official position of the Iraqi government regarding the formation of the new Syrian government, which was announced two days ago. (end)
