Doha, Qatar: Qatar recently launched the National Development Forum to align the nation's growth trajectory with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030). The forum provides a platform for stakeholders from diverse sectors to engage in discussions, exchange insights, and collaborate on initiatives that promote sustainable development.

Market experts attending the event lauded the government initiatives, which catalyses collaboration, innovation, and strategic alignment, offering private entities and stakeholders valuable opportunities to contribute to and benefit from Qatar's sustainable development journey.

Xiomara Henriquez, Executive Director at the American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar told The Peninsula“The impact on the private sector ideally means business growth opportunities. With the implementation of the PPP Law, private businesses will see increased involvement in projects that aim to expedite Qatar's achievement of their National Vision 2030 goals.”

She further remarked that the forum empowers private businesses by keeping them informed about the plans of various ministries and state agencies, while preparing them for the expectations they need to meet, such as improving their ICV score.

“The private sector plays a pivotal role in implementing Qatar's sectoral strategies by providing experience and expertise that will enable their Qatari partners to upskill and build knowledge within their industry,” Henriquez concluded.

Speaking to The Peninsula, Malik Shishtawi, President of the MENA Fintech Festival and the Founder & CEO of MANGUSTEEN stressed that the forum reinforces Qatar's commitment to positioning the private sector as a catalyst for strategic transformation.

He said“As event organisers, it opens the door for us to create platforms that bring vision to life - by connecting stakeholders, facilitating dialogue, and accelerating collaboration around the NDS3 priorities. It's an opportunity for us to contribute not only by producing events but by curating the conversations and ecosystems that drive national progress.”

The official highlighted that the platform enables different entities based in Qatar to align their expertise with national priorities including innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, or human capital development.

“Through events, we don't just showcase progress - we accelerate it. We create spaces where ideas evolve into partnerships and policies translate into action, which is essential in delivering the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030,” Shishtawi said.

The forum underscores key sectors identified for growth and diversification under NDS3, presenting private stakeholders with investment opportunities that align with national development goals.

He said“The private sector is being empowered to move from support roles to leadership positions in national development. As event creators, we play a unique role in shaping narratives, mobilizing industries, and fostering cross-sector collaboration.”

“Our mission is to design purposeful experiences that bridge the public and private sectors and ensure that strategy is translated into measurable impact,” Shishtawi added.

The forum witnessed the participation of high-level delegates engaging in dialogue during the forum allowing private entities to voice their perspectives on policy initiatives, contributing to the shaping of a business-friendly environment that supports economic growth and diversification.
