Kremlin Comments on Russian, U.S. Negotiations
(MENAFN) The outcomes of Monday’s meetings between Russia and the United States in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are currently under review and will not be publicly disclosed, according to a Kremlin spokesman.
Dmitry Peskov, speaking during a press briefing in Moscow on Tuesday, considered the discussions as “technical in nature” and confirmed that additional negotiations would follow.
Peskov explained that the talks were focused on detailed matters and emphasized that the content of the discussions would remain confidential. "These were technical negotiations, focused on details, so their content will not be disclosed. That should not be expected."
Secondly, as I’ve already mentioned, the reports submitted to the capital are now being analyzed. Only after that will it be possible to speak of any conclusions," he stated.
He further noted that there are no immediate plans for a conversation between the Russian and US presidents, though he suggested that such a meeting could be arranged swiftly if necessary.
"There is an understanding that contacts will continue, but no specifics have been agreed upon yet," Peskov added.
When questioned about the possibility of trilateral talks involving Russia, the US, and Ukraine, Peskov confirmed that there are no such discussions planned at this time.
Peskov also voiced his condolences to the families of three Russian reporters who were killed in Ukraine’s shelling of the Luhansk region on Monday and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
