2 Convicted Smugglers Flogged Publicly In Balkh

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two individuals convicted of smuggling alcoholic drinks have been publicly punished in northern Balkh province, the Supreme Court announced on Friday.
The apex court said in a statement the primary court punished the convicts in the Nahr-i-Shahi district on Thursday.
The court sentenced the convicts to 16 months in prison and 39 lashes each. The decision was carried out after being confirmed by the Supreme Court authorities.
