Ghazni, Paktia Tribes Bury Hatchet After 13 Years

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Two tribes have reconciled, bringing an end to a 13-year-old enmity between two tribes in two provinces, thanks to the mediation of local officials, scholars and tribal elders.

The feud between the Alizai and Baddinkhel tribes, based in Ghazni and Paktia provinces, has come to an end.

Abu Khalid Sarhadi, spokesman for Ghazni police, told Pajhwok Afghan News:“The conflict originated over land disputes, resulting in casualties on both sides, with six individuals suffered casualties.”

He explained that both sides agreed to reconcile through the efforts of local officials, scholars, and tribal elders on Thursday.

Sarhadi added that scholars played a key role in mediating the conflict and proposing a peaceful resolution.

Following the announcement of the decision, both sides accepted the terms and agreed to live in peace and harmony.

He also said that similar disputes-both large and small-exist in other areas of the district, and efforts are ongoing to resolve them as well.

At the same time, Saaf Khan, a leader of the Baddinkhel tribe who took part in the reconciliation process, told Pajhwok that for many years, there had been mutual hostility between the tribes of the two provinces, preventing either tribe from living peacefully in their own territories.

He emphasized that from now on, both sides would live under the banner of peace and brotherhood, working together in good deeds.

Additionally, a religious scholar, Mullah Jan Agha, told Pajhwok that such reconciliations have the potential to unite the people and tribal leaders, fostering progress.

He expressed gratitude to the local officials, scholars, and tribal leaders for their tireless efforts to resolve the conflict.

He also urged officials and leaders in other provinces, districts, and villages to work towards settling enmities between tribes and families in their respective areas.
