Awqaf Launches Young Muezzin Educational Program During Ramadan

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Mosque Affairs Department at Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), in partnership with the Educational Guidance Department, has launched an educational program titled: The Young Muezzin, aiming to teach and prepare young Muslims to practice adhan in mosques statewide during the holy month of Ramadan.
Director of the Mosque Affairs Department at the Ministry, Dr. Sulaiman Jumaan Al Qahtani, said the initiative is part of the ministry's vision to qualify the Qatari students and imbue them with the Islamic values to be prepared for being part of the ministry's staff.
Al Qahtani noted that 12 Qatari students were selected to participate in the call to prayer throughout the holy month at various mosques across the country, including two students with disabilities from Al Awsaj School, which serves students facing learning challenges.
He added that the mosques were chosen in coordination with the parents to ensure proximity to the students' homes, facilitating their participation and strengthening their connection to the mosques and their communities, fostering a strong spiritual bond with places of worship. (
