No Italian Troops To Be Deployed In Peacekeeping Missions In Ukraine Meloni


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni denied the participation of Italian troops in peacekeeping missions in Ukraine. During a virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing hosted by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday, Meloni emphasized that Italian forces would not take part in any potential peacekeeping operations in Ukraine.

That is according to ANSA , Ukrinform reports.

"No national participation is scheduled in a potential military force on the ground," Meloni said during the virtual meeting on Ukraine.

She added that Italy intends to continue to work with European and Western partners, as well as with the United States, to establish reliable and effective security guarantees.

Meloni had a phone conversation with Starmer before participating in the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

As reported by Ukrinform, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, following the virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, stated that about 25 allied country leaders agreed on Saturday to continue strengthening sanctions on the Russian economy to force Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiating table and end the war against Ukraine.
