UAE Leads As Top Importer Of Brazilian Eggs

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – The United Arab Emirates remained the leading destination of Brazilian egg exports. According to a report released on Wednesday (12) by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA ), Brazil exported 548 tonnes of eggs to the UAE in February, a 2.6% decrease compared to February last year. Other key destinations included the United States, Chile, Mexico, Japan, and Angola.

Brazilian egg exports in February totaled 2,527 tonnes, a 57.5% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Revenue from these shipments grew 63.2%, reaching USD 4.9 million. Year-to-date exports amounted to 4,800 tonnes, up 38.2% compared to the first two months of 2024, with revenue of USD 9.1 million, a 41.8% increase in the same comparison.

Despite the rise in egg prices in the domestic market and the drop in sales to the UAE, ABPA head Ricardo Santin was quoted as saying in the ABPA note that egg shipments continue at an“upward pace,” driven by purchases from the United States, Japan, and Mexico, the latter being a newly opened market for Brazilian eggs.
