Palestinian Football Association leader urges to take actions against Israel

(MENAFN) Palestinian sports staff demanded an international stance on opposition to Israel on Wednesday, mentioning "apartheid policies and systemic restrictions" on Palestinian players.

Their comments happened at a news conference managed by the Association of Correspondents Accredited to the UN (ACANU) in Geneva.

Jibril Rajoub, leader of the Palestinian Football Association, pushed the international sports society to make a strong action, calling the Olympic Charter’s dedication to morals, social accountability, as well as unbiased play.

Rajoub highlighted the urge to take actual actions against Israel, drawing latitude to the international stance against racism in sports.

"We urge the global community to honor its commitments to the Olympic Charter and the statutes of all sports organizations by taking a stand against genocide, apartheid, and systemic injustice," he said.
