Panama's ATP Is Working On A Circuit Of Waterfalls In Different Provinces To Enrich Experiences To Tourists

Gloria De León, general administrator of the Tourism Authority, indicated that the idea is to be able to prepare round-trips, especially for those tourists with a specific stay in Panama.

“We are working on a circuit of waterfalls in the different provinces to be able to take tourists.

In the case of Cerro Azul Cerro we are working on circuits of rivers and waterfalls to make round trips,” she said.

In this regard, De León stressed that they have to create a real product based on the time that the visitor will stay in the country, as occurs with cruises, whose passengers do not stay for long periods.

De León also stressed that they have had contact with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority, in order to include them in their seminars and training sessions.

For the deputy Manuel Samaniego, this step is fundamental because it would help people who have natural attractions on their land to choose to start a business in this field.

“If there is a person who has the opportunity to have a privileged piece of land near a waterfall or located near a lake, where tourism can be done, and we have Ampyme that provides financing, it is good that they are identifying it,” he said.

Samaniego insisted on the case of Cerro Azul, a destination located near the Tocumen airport and which can be exploited in this direction.
In Panama, waterfalls of different heights and colors attract adventurers. And with the rise of social media, expeditions have also increased.

On the other hand, De León said that they are still working on the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan, in which they have identified new towns with a tourist vocation.
