Turkey, Azerbaijan natural gas deal gets applied

(MENAFN) A collaboration deal between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the field of natural gas was released on Wednesday in the Turkish Official Gazette, formally applying it.

The deal between the two regions was inked the previous May in Istanbul by Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar as well as Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

The deal additionally reinforces both regions’ energy field cooperation.

Depending on the deal, during the time of 2030, more amounts of Azerbaijan's natural gas from the Caspian area will be in Turkey, with a volume of this gas planned to be carried more to Europe. To make this process easier, the maximum amounts of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) as well as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Natural Gas Pipeline will both be expanded.
