Cyclone Garance causes four deaths in France’s La Reunion


(MENAFN) According to local officials, Cyclone Garance in La Reunion, France’s Indian Ocean region, has resulted in four deaths.

The La Reunion Governorate shared on X that the cyclone has resulted in leaving 160,000 households cut off electricity, 310,000 lacking water, along with 139,000 without access to the internet.

Amid the ongoing cyclone’s effect on the island, authorities have relocated 953 individuals to shelters.

The governorate has instructed citizens to be attentive and restrict their travel due to the present threats.
