Katara Public Diplomacy Center, DI Sign Memorandum Of Cooperation To Exchange Expertise
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Katara Public diplomacy Center signed Monday a memorandum of co-operation with the Doha Institute for graduate Studies (DI), in the field of exchanging expertise.
The memorandum was signed by CEO of Katara Public Diplomacy Center, Maryam Al Saad, and President of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Dr. Abdelwahab El Affendi.
The memorandum of cooperation aims to exchange expertise between the two parties in the fields of culture, social sciences, humanities, economics, and public policy. It also aims to support scientific and knowledge research, organise academic and cultural events, enhance public diplomacy through joint activities, and publish research and studies.
The memorandum also included co-operation in building national capacities in the field of public diplomacy and exchanging expertise between the two parties in areas of common interest, which contributes to achieving the strategic goals of the two parties.
It was agreed to establish clear implementation mechanisms for this partnership, with the possibility of developing the agreement in the future according to common needs, as the two parties affirmed their commitment to enhancing institutional cooperation in a way that serves knowledge and community development.
In her speech during the press conference, Maryam Al Saad stressed the importance of the partnership, highlighting that the agreement with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies is a pivotal step in enhancing cooperation and joint work in public diplomacy, cultural events, and training programmes.
Al Saad pointed out that this co-operation comes within the framework of Katara's vision of the importance of supporting creativity and thought, enhancing knowledge dialogue, and opening new horizons for youth and innovators to develop their capabilities and benefit from the resources and expertise available to both parties, expressing hope that this memorandum will be a successful model for fruitful co-operation between cultural and academic institutions in Qatar.
For his part, Dr El Affendi emphasised that the partnership marks a significant step in strengthening the focus on international relations and public diplomacy. He highlighted that the collaboration aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise while fostering an academic and cultural environment that supports development and innovation. This, in turn, will enhance Qatar's position as a hub for intellectual and creative excellence.
He stressed the importance of public diplomacy in strengthening international relations and enhancing mutual understanding and communication between peoples, noting the important academic programmes offered by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies to students from inside and outside Qatar in the field of public diplomacy and international relations.
