Dreams: A Window Into Our Subconscious Or Messages From The Beyond?
A Childhood Filled with Snakes
As a child, I frequently dreamt of snakes-so many that there was no space to set foot on the ground. Yet, these weren't ordinary snakes; they were colorful, intricately designed, and strangely beautiful.
After my father's passing, I saw him in my dreams every night for years. The joy of seeing him, feeling as though he was still with us, was indescribable. Then, my dreams took a turn-I began seeing rivers, floods, and oceans. Sometimes, the water was crystal clear; at other times, it was murky, like sewage.
From Driving Cars to Climbing Impossible HeightsWhen I entered the professional world, my dreams reflected my struggles. I would find myself behind the wheel of a car, yet I could never drive it properly, even though I knew how to drive in real life.

As I grew older, my dreams involved climbing difficult terrains-steep, broken staircases where I feared falling. Marriage brought its anxieties, and I began dreaming about sitting for high school or university exams, utterly unprepared. I would stare at the blank paper, unable to write anything, only to realize upon leaving the exam hall that I had already completed my master's degree.
The Latest Strange DreamsLately, my dreams have taken an even stranger turn. I often find myself heading to a job interview, a meeting, or a workplace, only for my daily pick-and-drop van to never show up. Frustration builds as I realize I must rely on a taxi or rickshaw. Then, at the worst possible moment, I need to find a restroom-only to discover they are either missing entirely, made of transparent glass, or simply unusable.
If I read a book or watch a movie before bed, I sometimes find scenes from them woven into my dreams but in entirely new contexts.
Decoding the DreamsLooking back, I realize that childhood fears manifested in my dreams-real-life encounters with snakes in our garden led to my vivid nightmares. My father's passing made me long for his presence, and my subconscious fulfilled that wish in dreams.
Exam anxiety transformed into dreams of being unprepared for tests. Job-related stress played out as out-of-control cars. Challenging tasks at work became mountains to climb. And post-marriage struggles felt like sitting for an exam without any preparation.
Now, as a mother, my concern over my children's school van translates into dreams of my university transport never arriving. My frequent visits to the restroom due to diabetes likely explain why my dreams are filled with toilet searches-though thankfully, I never mistook my bed for one as my cousin did as a child!
Dreams: Reflections of Our Inner WorldPerhaps everyone's dreams are deeply tied to their life experiences-ups and downs, joys and sorrows, health, and struggles. Whatever lies in our subconscious and unconscious mind finds its way into our dreams.
Many believe that seeing a deceased loved one in a dream brings comfort, while others claim that if they give you something, it's a good sign, but if they take something, it signals impending death. However, let's be realistic-no one is given special permission from the afterlife to visit us, nor are the deceased promoted to Angel Azrael's team after death!
Instead of fearing bad dreams, we should focus on prayers and charity for our departed loved ones. If you see a nightmare, don't share it-just recite a protective prayer, spit lightly to your left three times, and give some charity.
If you want beautiful dreams, feed your mind with positivity before sleeping-read something uplifting, watch something pleasant, and think happy thoughts. And if you are among the rare few who never dream, count yourself lucky! Psychologists say that when someone falls into a deep sleep, they experience no dreams at all.
