Colonists attack Al-Aqsa Mosque Courtyards with Israeli Military Protection

(MENAFN) On Sunday, a group of colonists attacked the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied and protected by Israeli Occupation forces. The Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that dozens of colonists entered the mosque in small groups and conducted provocative tours around its courtyards, engaging in Talmudic rituals. These activities took place under the watchful protection of the Israeli forces.

The Israeli occupation Police heavily fortified the Old City of Jerusalem, turning it into a military zone by deploying hundreds of officers, particularly near the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The increased presence of security personnel was part of a broader effort to restrict the movement of Palestinian worshipers, including imposing strict limitations on their entry into the mosque.

This event is part of a growing pattern of escalated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by colonists since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression against Palestinian territories, including Gaza, the West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem, which began on October 7, 2023. The Israeli occupation forces have significantly intensified security measures around the mosque’s gates and the entrances to the Old City, further curtailing access for Palestinian residents and visitors. These actions reflect the ongoing tensions and military control over the region, with the situation at Al-Aqsa continuing to remain volatile.
