Trump's Controversial Response To Afghan Journalist

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Donald Trump, the President of the United States, refused to answer a question from an Afghan female journalist during a press conference, citing difficulty understanding her accent.

During a joint press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu, trump was confronted with a question from the Afghan journalist about his administration's plans regarding Afghanistan. Trump claimed he could not understand her due to her accent.

The Afghan female journalist asked Trump about his plans to change the situation in Afghanistan, the future of its people, and the relationship between his administration and the Taliban, including the possibility of formally recognizing the group. In response, Trump stated that he had difficulty understanding her words.

Trump then asked where she was from, and when she identified herself as Afghan, he complimented her, saying,“You have a beautiful voice and accent; but the problem is, I can't understand a word you're saying. I just want to say, good luck and live in peace.”

Despite repeatedly criticizing President Biden's handling of Afghanistan, Trump avoided responding to the Afghan journalist's question.

This incident highlights the tense dynamics surrounding the ongoing political discourse on Afghanistan. Trump's refusal to engage with the Afghan journalist has drawn attention to his approach to foreign policy and communication with international media. It also raises questions about the future of U.S.-Afghanistan relations and the handling of sensitive geopolitical issues in the region.
