Egyptian, Somali Ministers Explore Agricultural Partnership


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egyptian Minister of supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk met with Asad Abdirizak, Somali State Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, on Monday to discuss cooperation between the two countries on food security and trade.

During the meeting, the Somali minister praised the Egyptian Ministry of Supply's role in achieving food stability and commended Farouk's efforts in supporting cooperation with African countries.

He emphasized Somalia's desire to strengthen partnerships with Egypt in this area.

Farouk affirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening relations with its African counterparts, particularly in food security and supply chain development. He highlighted the Egyptian Ministry of Supply's extensive expertise, which could be shared with Somalia to contribute to the development of its agriculture and food sector.

The two ministers also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral trade and investment in agricultural and food products, aiming to achieve mutual benefits and support sustainable development efforts across Africa.

The meeting reflects the countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering communication and cooperation, particularly given Egypt's efforts to support African nations in agriculture and trade.

It also underscores the Egyptian government's focus on enhancing relations with African countries and supporting joint efforts to achieve food security and sustainable development on the continent.
