Nearly 409,000MT Transported Via Railways In A Month


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajwhok): About 408,876 metric tonnes of goods were transported through railways from four Afghan ports during the past one month, the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) said on Sunday.

On his X handle, MoPW spokesman Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas wrote these transportations occurred in last month of 1403 solar year.

He said 302,327 tonnes were transported through Hairatan Port, 27,045 tonnes via Aqina Port, 70,564 tonnes through Torghundi Port, and 8,940 tons via Khawaf-Herat, totaling 408,876 metric tonnes.

These transportation included fuel and other items, the spokesman added.

According to Haqshenas, the shipments included 1,698 tonnes transit and export goods. But he did not name the items.

He explained MoPW was trying to create favorable conditions for more transactions and to provide convenience to traders.

In past month of 1403 solar year, 452,132 metric tonnes of cargo were transported through railways from four ports in Afghanistan.
