Kuwait Governorates Hold Flag-Hoisting Ceremonies, Marking Nat'l Festivals


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Marking the celebration of the State of Kuwait's 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day, the country's governorates held flag-hoisting ceremonies on Sunday, marking national celebrations.
The Governors all congratulated His Highness the Amir sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the crown prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and all nationals and residents on this occasion.
Governor of Al-Ahmadi Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah recalled the efforts of the ancestors and the sacrifices of the martyrs in building a homeland and preserving it.
He called the celebrations an important marker of the beginning of the development of the modern state, an emblem of national unity and renewal of loyalty to the country.
Hawalli Governor, Ali Al-Asfar on his part voiced his pride of this significant occasion, evoking the inspiring stories of its history, and its prosperity.
Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Sabah of Al-Asimah Governorate commented saying that the national celebrations ignite a sense of loyalty and enforce fidelity to the homeland.
Governor Al-Sabah highlighted hard work and devotion as main factors behind the building of the state and its development.
Farwaniya Governor, Athbi Nasser Al-Sabah underlined the national celebrations as an enforcement of the sense of unity.
Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor, Sheikh Sabah Bader Al-Sabah stated that this is a reflection of Kuwait's long history, the unity of its people and their sacrifices. (end)
