Apple reports record-breaking revenue, net income in Q1 fiscal 2025
(MENAFN) Apple reported record-breaking revenue and net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, ending December 28, 2024. The company’s revenue rose by 4 percent year-on-year, reaching USD124.3 billion, compared to USD119.6 billion in the same period last year. Net income grew by 7 percent, totaling USD36.3 billion. Additionally, earnings per share (EPS) increased from USD2.18 to USD2.40, reflecting the company’s strong performance across its business segments.
Kevan Parekh, Apple’s chief financial officer, emphasized that the company’s record revenue and operating margins drove the all-time high EPS, with double-digit growth. He also highlighted that Apple was able to return over USD30 billion to shareholders, showcasing its financial strength. Parekh also noted that the installed base of active devices reached an all-time high, a key milestone for the company across all product categories and geographic regions.
Despite the overall success, iPhone sales dipped slightly by about 1 percent year-on-year, totaling USD69.1 billion in the quarter. This decline was partly offset by strong performances from other product lines. Mac computer sales saw a 16 percent increase, reaching USD8.9 billion, while iPad sales rose by 15 percent, totaling USD8.1 billion. These gains in the Mac and iPad categories helped bolster Apple’s overall financial results.
