Tajikistan And IMF Discuss Additional Financial Program


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Trend, October 29. Tajikistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have discussed an additional financial program for the country, Trend reports.

The issue was raised during a meeting between Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Faiziddin Kakhhorzoda, and Jihad Azour, Director for the Middle East and Central Asia at the IMF.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World bank Group and the IMF in Washington.

During the meeting, the parties addressed the implementation of a new Economic Policy Coordination Program (EPCP) in Tajikistan.

Additionally, on the sidelines of the annual meetings, Kakhhorzoda met with Antonella Bassani, Vice President for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank. The two discussed the implementation of reforms in priority economic sectors, including efforts to improve the investment climate, support the private sector, and advance joint projects.
