Light Aircraft Crash Leaves Three Dead in South Australia
(MENAFN) South Australia Police confirmed Saturday that three individuals perished when a small aircraft plummeted into waters south of Adelaide during Friday afternoon.
Authorities were alerted to the aviation disaster at approximately 4:20 p.m. local time and deployed emergency responders without delay, according to an official statement.
The victims—a 57-year-old pilot along with passengers aged 18 and 19—were all male and recovered deceased from the crash site, South Australia Police reported. The aircraft's debris has since been retrieved and transported to shore.
All three men on board were found dead -- the 57-year-old pilot, and an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, it said, adding that the wreckage of the plane has been brought into shore.
Transport safety investigators are attending the scene on Saturday, and investigations into the crash are continuing, it said.
