Consultative Meeting Inks Protocol To Set Eurasian Transport Route Association (PHOTO)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The ink has
dried on the protocol regarding the outcomes of the consultative
meeting to set up the International Association“Eurasian transport
route,” Trend
reports.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov noted that
Azerbaijan initiated the establishment of the International
Association“Eurasian transport Route” to improve coordination of
international transportation in the region of Central Asia,
Azerbaijan, Türkiye with the involvement of Austria and China.
According to him, the association will be a collegial authority,
supervising the development of the route concept, tariff policy,
and digitalization.
“The interest of China and Austria in this route indicates the
recognition of its attractiveness,” Rustamov believes.
The First Deputy Head of Roads of the State Unitary Enterprise
“Tajikistan Railways” Sorbon Gulakhmadov, in turn, mentioned that
the establishment of the International Association“Eurasian
Transport Route” will increase the volume of freight transportation
between countries in the global region of Eurasia.
“Experience proves that for effective operation of
transportation, it is necessary to develop and improve
infrastructure, and build optimal transportation routes and
communications. The Government of Tajikistan pays great attention
to the development of the transport sector, especially the
development of transport corridors, railway infrastructure, and
turning the country into a transit zone. The Middle Corridor is one
of the promising transportation corridors,” he added.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uzbek Railways JSC
Zufar Narzullaev stated that Uzbek Railways JSC supports the
establishment of the International Association“Eurasian Transport
Route” as it will strengthen relations between the railway
administrations of the countries participating in the route.
“All conditions are being created in Uzbekistan to expand
transport and transit potential. Steps are being taken towards the
construction and modernization of railroads in the country. In
addition, integrated logistics centers are being created in
Uzbekistan, and measures have been taken to improve the regulatory
and legal framework in this area,” Narzullaev said.
