“Treasure Hunting in the Underworld: A Guide for Healing and Claiming What's Yours” by Lillian Eve Moore has been released worldwide. This 170-page guidebook delves into the internal, mental, and habitual patterns that drive our thoughts and behaviors, from repressed memories and traumatic experiences to unconscious desires and unrecognized addictions. By pulling these problem-causing mental models into the light of conscious attention, Moore offers a path toward healing, growth, and discovering the greatness each person carries within.
With a delicate balance of psychology and spirituality, Moore invites readers to examine the shadowy parts of their minds – the areas of thought and experience that may lead to aversion, fear, avoidance, and other behaviors that people want to change or overcome.
She shows how all experiences occur through the lens of the mind, and that the way we think about things directly determines how we experience them. Throughout the book, Moore teaches steps to become friends with your mind, transforming an uncomfortable sense of“life happening to you” into an empowered state of control and confidence.
The guidance aims to integrate fragmented parts of the psyche into a healed whole, in part through accepting that a certain degree of incongruity is perfectly normal. As readers systematically investigate and confront the parts of their minds that hold them back (including lessons learned through trauma, culture, childhood experiences, and beyond), new possibilities for depth and connection emerge.
The overall goal of this practical, profound guidebook is self-actualization. Through self-understanding and mental clarity, imagination and mindset become powerful tools for creating a fulfilling life of both inner peace and external achievement.
Driven by the belief that everyone is healable, these lessons are drawn from a lifetime of interdisciplinary study, personal experience, and the successes of coaching clients and students through the author's organization, Mindlight. Through radical self-acceptance, a deeper relationship with the mind's inner workings, and a greater awareness of how perception affects reality, people from all walks of life can embark on a journey toward creativity, compassion, love, and harnessing the genius that lies within us all.
As the title suggests, Moore shows that in the depths of our minds, there is truly treasure to be found.
