MP Candidate Registration Submissions Deadline In Azerbaijan's Parliamentary Poll Ending

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. The deadline for submitting electoral documents to the district election commission necessary for the registration of candidates for MPs in connection with the upcoming snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is expiring, Trend reports.

According to the "Calendar plan of major actions and activities for the preparation and conduct of the extraordinary election to the Parliament of Azerbaijan", for the registration of a candidate or their authorized representative, an authorized representative of a political party, or a bloc of political parties, the electoral documents must be submitted to the district election commission no later than 50 days and no less than 30 days before the election day, by 06:00 (GMT +4).

In connection with the snap election to the parliament, this period covers from July 13, 2024, to 06:00 on August 2, 2024.

On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The snap election is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
