Passenger Train Derails In India Killing 2, Injuring 20 Others

NEW DELHI, July 30 (KUNA) -- Two people were killed and 20 others were injured on Tuesday after 18 carriages derailed a commuter train in 2 Killed, 20 Injured in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary said "Two persons were killed and 20 injured as 18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed near Barabamboo," adding that rescue operations were underway.
The authorities launched an investigation into the accident as a number of services in the area were cancelled while other trains were either short-terminated or diverted. (end)
